Passengers from the “Le Lyrial” received a very warm welcome to Youghal on Monday 11th May as the town marked the first cruise ship visit of the 2026 summer season. Visitors were greeted by Kay Curtin, President of Youghal Chamber, who welcomed passengers on behalf of the local community and presented them with traditional lucky pennies to mark the occasion. Passengers were also welcomed by Youghal Town Crier, Cliff, whose traditional greeting added to the great atmosphere on the day.

As part of the celebrations, passengers enjoyed a wonderful performance by the Cork Cultural Show, organised by Cork County Council in St Mary’s Collegiate Church. The concert gave visitors a lovely taste of Irish music, culture and local hospitality in one of Youghal’s most historic settings.

The arrival of the Le Lyrial is an important start to the local tourism season, bringing visitors from around the world to experience everything Youghal has to offer. The visit was warmly welcomed by the local community and was a great occasion for our lovely town.
