A large number of awards were presented on the night in many areas of achievement. The Chamber would again like to congratulate each student who received an award and wish them every success in the future.

Youghal Chamber promoting Youghal at the Tourism Village at The Coach & Bus Show at the RDS in Dublin

Youghal Chamber of Tourism & Development once again took a stand at the Tourism Village at the Coach & Bus Show which took place from 24th -25th November 2012 in the RDS. The Tourism Village, which is supported by Fáilte Ireland, is a trade show to promote domestic group touring in Ireland. Youghal Chamber met with existing and potential tours operators in an effort to encourage them to stay longer in the Town or to add Youghal as a new tourism destination.

The Coach and Bus Show which was organised by the Coach Tourism & Transport Council of Ireland, had all of Ireland's main coach companies in attendance, this was a fantastic opportunity for us to meet with the organisers of coach Tours in Ireland and the UK.   Coach tour operators were offered an excellent “Visit Youghal Package” which included Walking Tours of Youghal, Lunch or dinner, overnight stays, Traditional music evenings etc. It is hoped that as a result of attending this show there will be more coaches visiting Youghal.   Follow up appointments with a number of the tour operators who were met with over the weekend have been arranged by Youghal Chamber over the coming weeks.

Minister Leo Varadkar also attended the events and the Chamber have requested a follow up meeting with the Minister in an effort to boost the tourism potential of our town.
